This year the Camdenton R-III School District will utilize Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) plans for short-term school closures for up to six days. If we have a short-term closure for situations such as inclement weather, families will receive communication from the district informing them we will implement the AMI plan.
On AMI days, campus facilities will be closed. All students will be learning remotely on these days. Students will not physically attend classes on an AMI day.
AMI days will apply for students with or without internet access. Staff members have constructed lessons and assignments for students who have internet capabilities and also for those who do not have access. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this please contact your child's teacher.
The district will not need to make these days up in the school calendar. Students will be accountable for completing the assigned work on these days. Further, these days will count as school days and they will not need to be made up.
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) approved the use of Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days for use during short-term school closures as an option for school districts. Additional information on DESE’s AMI plans can be found here.
The Camdenton R-III Board of Education approved these days to be utilized in our district so our students can continue to learn even if we cannot physically attend our campuses. The utilization of these days will also decrease the number of potential make up days for inclement weather. AMI days will be counted as a “regular” school day.
