Letter From Dr. Thompson - Purple Pride Fridays
Please see the attached letter from Dr. Thompson.
Dear Laker Community,
As summer draws to a close and we look ahead to a new school year, we are excited to welcome our students back on Tuesday, August 25.
A new school year always brings a sense of excitement and possibility, but we know that what happens within our schools would not be possible without the extraordinary support of the community around us. We are incredibly grateful for the many ways you continue to encourage, support, and invest in our students and staff.
Whether you are a parent, local business owner, volunteer, neighbor, alumnus, or simply someone who is proud to call this community home, you are an important part of the Laker family. Your support helps create a community where our students and staff know they are valued, encouraged, and surrounded by people who want to see them succeed.
One of the things that makes being a Laker so special is the way this community rallies around one another. We celebrate accomplishments, show up when it matters, and take pride in the students, staff, schools, and community that wear the purple and gold. That connection between our schools and our community is something we deeply value and never take for granted.
This year, we want to make that Laker pride even more visible. Every Friday throughout the school year, we invite our entire community to join us for Purple Pride Fridays. Students, staff, families, businesses, organizations, alumni, and community members are encouraged to wear purple and help us fill our schools, workplaces, businesses, and community with Laker Pride. A sea of purple is a powerful reminder to our students that this entire community stands behind them.
Thank you again for your continuous partnership and support for our students and school district. We are deeply grateful for our LAKER community.
With Laker Pride,
Brett Thompson
